CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PROYECTO / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: Modificar el proceso minero actual, considerando acelerar el ritmo de extracción y aumentar la capacidad de procesamiento de mineral para disminuir la vulnerabilidad de la faena ante las bajas de precio del metal. Esto implicará transformar las unidades de procesamiento y elevar la cantidad de insumos requeridos. / Modifying the current mining process, considering the acceleration of the extraction rythm and increasing the mineral processing capacity to decrease the vulnerability of the site against the metal’s price drop. This will imply transforming the processing units and raising the amount of supplies required.

UBICACIÓN / LOCATION: Comuna de Tierra Amarilla, a 160 km al sureste de Copiapó, en la Región de Atacama, distante a 807 km al norte de Santiago. / Tierra Amarilla commune, 160 km southeast of Copiapo, in the Atacama region, 807 km north of Santiago.

ESTADO ACTUAL DEL PROYECTO / CURRENT STATE OF PROJECT: Diferido / Differed

CAPACIDAD DE GENERACIÓN DE EMPLEO / EMPLOYMENT GENERATION CAPACITY: En la etapa de construcción se requerirán 1.150 personas, mientras que en la operación serán necesarios 55 trabajadores. / 1,150 people will be required for the construction stage, while 55 workers will be needed for the operation stage.
