1.- PROYECTO/Project: Candelaria 2030 (Lundin Mining)

CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PROYECTO / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: Fue ingresado al SEA en 2013, considerada la extensión de la vida útil de la operación actual hasta el 22030. Requiere de diversas actividades, entre ellas la ampliación de obras existentes y la incorporación de algunas obras mayores, tales como: / It entered the EAS in 2013. It considered the extension of the current operation’s useful life until 2030. It requires different activities, like the expansion of the existing works and the incorporation of some large works, such as:

1. aumento en la vida útil hasta 2030 del rajo abierto y mina subterránea; depósito de estéril Norte y Nantoco; planta de procesos; acueducto Puerto-Bodega y Bodega-Candelaria; suministro de agua; suministro y distribución de energía eléctrica y planta desalinizadora.
2. Increase of the useful life until 2030 of the open pit and underground mine; Norte and Nantoco waste fines deposit; processing plant; Harbor-Warehouse and Warehouse-Candelaria aqueduct; water supply; supply and distribution of electricity and desalination plant.
3. Extensión de vida útil del 2017 al 2019 del depósito de relaves actual denominado Candelaria, y desde 2023 hasta 2030 para las instalaciones portuarias en Puerto Punta Padrones. Asimismo, se construirá un nuevo depósito de relaves denominado Los Diques, con capacidad cercana a 600 Mt. / Extension of the current tailings reservoir’s useful life from 2017 to 2019 called Candelaria, and from 2023 until 2030 for the port facilities at Punta Padrones Harbor. Likewise, a new tailings reservoir called Los Diques will be built, with a capacity close to 600 MT.
4. Aumento en la capacidad de almacenamiento de los botaderos Norte y Nantoco, en 610 Mt y 140 Mt adicionales, respectivamente. / Increase of the storage capacity of the Norte and Nantoco landfills, additional 610 MT and 140 MT, respectively.

UBICACIÓN / LOCATION: 9 kilómetros al sur de Tierra Amarilla y a 29 km al suroeste de Copiapó, en la Región de Atacama (III) / 9 km south of Tierra Amarilla and 29 km southwest of Copiapo, in the Atacama Region (III).

INVERSIÓN ESTIMADA / ESTIMATED INVESTMENT:La obra implicará una inversión entre 2016 y 2018 de MMUS$ 460. El ejercicio que concentrará mayor parte de estos recursos será 2017 con MMUS$ 180. / The work will imply an investment of US$460 million between 2016 and 2018. The year 2017 will focus most of these resources, with US$180 million.

ESTADO ACTUAL DEL PROYECTO / CURRENT STATE OF PROJECT: En factibilidad, con EAI presentado en septiembre de 2014 y a la espera de su aprobación. Hoy se espera que el nuevo propietario defina el inicio de construcción del mismo, que debiese ser más allá de fines de 2016. / In feasibility stage, with EIA presented in September 2014 and waiting for its approval. We are waiting for the new owner to define the construction of the same, which should happen in late 2016.

CAPACIDAD DE GENERACIÓN DE EMPLEO / EMPLOYMENT GENERATION CAPACITY: 970 como promedio y 1.700 como máximo en la etapa de construcción y 2.600 en operación (1.200 trabajadores propios y 1.400 de contratistas). / Average of 900 and maximum of 1,700 in the construction stage and 2,600 in operation (1,200 of its own workers and 1,400 of contractors).
