CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PROYECTO / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: Es un proyecto de continuidad operacional de las actuales instalaciones de El Salvador y extendería la vida útil divisional por más de 30 años, mediante la explotación a rajo abierto del yacimiento Indio Muerto. El plan minero contempla la explotación de recursos sulfurados del sector Inca mediante minería subterránea, que se verá interrumpido en 2018 debido al inicio de pre–stripping del proyecto Rajo Inca. Por su parte, el Campamento Antiguo agotará sus reservas en 2017. Esta situación de continuidad, tras analizar la pre factibilidad del proyecto, modificó el proyecto conceptual inicial de una nueva planta concentradora, para alcanzar 132.000 tpd de mineral procesado, el que requería un EAI nuevo y no aseguraba eliminar el gap productivo de Salvador hacia 2018, a una opción que sólo realizará un upgrade de la actual planta concentradora de 32.000 tpd para alcanzar 37.000 tpd y poder mantener la producción de 90 ktpa de cobre fino en concentrados de la División. / It is an operational continuity project of the current El Salvador facilities and it would prolong the divisional useful life for more than 30 years through the open-pit exploitation of the Indio Muerto Deposit. The mining plan contemplates the exploitation of sulphide resources of the Inca sector through underground mining, which will be interrupted in 2018 due to pre-stripping start-up of the Rajo Inca project. On the other hand, Campamento Antiguo will have depleted its reserves by 2017. This continuity situation, after analyzing the project’s pre-feasibility, modified the initial conceptual project of a new concentrator plant, in order to reach 132,000 tpd of processed mineral, which would require a new EIA and it did not guarantee eliminating the productive gap of El Salvador by 2018, to an option that will only reach an upgrade of the current concentrator plant from 32,000 tpd to reach 37,000 tpd and maintaining the production of 90,000 ktpy of fine copper concentrate of the Division.

CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PROYECTO / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: Explotación de sulfuros primarios de cobre de la mina San Antonio para obtener del orden de 90 mil toneladas por año de cobre fino. / Exploitation of primary copper sulphides of the San Antonio mine to obtain about 90 million tons per year of fine copper.

 3.- PROYECTO/Project: San Antonio Óxidos
 

CARACTERÍSTICAS DEL PROYECTO / PROJECT CHARACTERISTICS: Explotación de una mina a rajo abierto –la ex Mina Vieja- en cuyas inmediaciones se construirá una planta de chancado. El mineral será transportado mediante un sistema de correas al área húmeda, constituida por las plantas de lixiviación, extracción por solvente y electro-obtención, ubicadas a 9 km, en el sector de Potrerillos. Los conocimientos generados permiten definir una producción de hasta 60 mil toneladas de cobre fino por año. / Exploitation of an open-pit mine –ex Mina Vieja– where a crushing plant will be built. The mineral will be transported through a belt system to the wet area, made of the leaching, solvent extraction and electro-winning plants, located 9 km away, in the Potrerillos sector. The knowledge acquired allows defining a production of up to 60 thousand tons of fine copper per year.
